What’s it all about?
My favourite photographs have always been about the intimacy and trust on either side of the lens. No flash, no filters, no airbrushing, no photoshop. Just two people and a camera.
We are enough as we are.
Who are they?
Everyone featured in this project is a performer of some kind. Their vocations vary considerably, from musicians and actors to a pole dancer, a choir leader, a politician, a sommelier, a fire performer the list goes on…
The photoshoots took place where the performers felt most comfortable, be that home, work or a location they felt a connection with. All the shots were taken whilst the performers were away from their usual audience. Although some rehearsed, the shots weren’t posed and happened as we talked. Just me, them and my camera, no lights, no props, no set ups, no filters.
