Halls Supervisor / Technician

Nantwich Town Council wishes to appoint a confident and engaged individual to provide duty manager cover and technical support for live shows, functions and events.

A flexible approach to work is essential as hours are often unsociable, meaning late nights, weekends and early mornings.

You must be versatile and organised and somebody who is just as happy serving behind our busy bar and setting rooms up as well as lighting the bands on stage. You’ll need great communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with a range of people.

With a varied daily programme of events planned you will be expected to duty manage on a scheduled basis and physically set up the hall/s ready for incoming functions and events. You will also be providing technical support for live shows and events as and when required. You will keep all lighting and sound equipment well serviced and accounted for, along with maintaining a stock of disposable tech supplies and equipment.

Halls Supervisor / Markets assistant

Nantwich Town Council wishes to appoint a Hall Supervisor / Market Assistant to help with the day-to-day operation of Nantwich Civic Hall, Nantwich Markets, outdoor events and other Town Council facilities.

This challenging, yet rewarding, role will require you to balance conflicting priorities while meeting tight deadlines and exceeding customer expectations. As this is a customer-facing role you will need to demonstrate great communication skills and be able to quickly build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders. This role is physically demanding, you be required to set up the rooms at Nantwich Civic Hall and erect and take down market gazebos in a time-pressured environment – testing your organisational skills. You will be flexible in your approach to work as early starts, late nights, weekends and bank holiday working will also be required.

In return you can expect a fair and competitive salary, 25 days holidays per year increasing to 30 days after five years’ service. An enhanced rate of pay and time back for any bank holidays worked. Automatic enrolment in the Local Government Pensions Scheme (unless you opt out) and plenty of quality training to develop your knowledge and skills. Not to mention you will get to enjoy the shows, gigs and comedy live on stage at the Civic Hall.

Market Staff (Casual)

Nantwich Town Council manages the Town’s weekly market alongside a a large number of artisan and farmers markets on the Square.  We are looking for casual members to join our team on Saturdays to assist with the setting up, taking down and daily duties of the markets.

Rate of pay: £9.50 per hour

Duties: Under the supervision of the Markets Supervisor you will be erecting and dismantling market gazebos, liaising with market stall holders, collecting of markets rents, implementing Health and Safety requirements and general cleaning duties.

Hours of workSaturdays (hours vary, but start times can be from 6am and finish times can be up to 6pm)

Bar Staff (Casual)

We have a busy programmed lined up for the forthcoming months and we are looking for casual staff to join us on the bar.

Rate of pay: £9.50 per hour

Duties: Serving customers, cash handling, table service at times, cleaning down the bar and restocking.

Hours of workVaried depending on the function they will regularly include late nights and weekends.
