Town Ranger
37 hours per week – Flexible

Nantwich Town Council are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join its Maintenance team to help keep Nantwich looking its best.
Based over a four or five-day week, (depending on business demand) including Saturdays the work is varied and rewarding, positively impacting on our residents, workers and visitors lives. The successful applicant’s capability to use their initiative will be matched by their ability to solve problems and find creative solutions to issues that arise.
The Town Council operates: Nantwich Civic Hall, allotment sites, public toilets, Nantwich indoor and outdoor Market, Famers Markets in addition to other Town Centre events.
Experience of basic maintenance in order to carry out duties such as minor repairs at any of these facilities. Landscape experience would be advantageous as would any associated qualifications, training and experience of hand and power tools.
The position will involve physical work and at times may require the holder to get their hands dirty in dealing with issues (e.g. at the public toilets, fly tipping, weeding, hedge cutting).
Full driving license is essential and experience of driving a tractor with trailer is desirable.

Apprentice Marketing Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Apprentice to join the team at Nantwich Town Council
This is a unique chance to develop a marketing career in local government and be part of the team championing the pretty market town of Nantwich. The new marketing apprentice at Nantwich Town Council would be at the heart of what’s going on in the community and have a chance to shape the future strategy for promoting the work of the organisation.
Salary: £23,492, 37 hours per week
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
There will be a lot of interesting and unique marketing content for the new recruit to promote at Nantwich Town Council, where the daily duties for this important local government body are varied. The Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship role will include;
- Creating regular social media content around what’s going on such as entertainment and opportunities to hire function rooms at the Civic Hall, market activity and public consultations
- Devising marketing campaigns/strategies and evaluating their success
- Producing media – leaflets/adverts/posters
- Design work for items such as street banners
- Involvement in organising annual events such as the Christmas Light Switch On and Remembrance Sunday
- Creating and producing quarterly Town Council newsletter – in print and e-shot
- Updating and improving website/app
- Writing and distributing press releases
- Supporting with the organisation of public consultation communication and associated information events
- Sending out surveys to the community and evaluating data produced
- Managing marketing budgets
- Front desk duties and greeting members of the community who visit the Town Council for advice or information
- Developing and managing key relationships and communication with local stakeholders such as community/voluntary groups and charities

Bar Staff (Casual)
We have a busy programmed lined up for the forthcoming months and we are looking for casual staff to join us on the bar.
Ages 18+, Rate of pay: £11.44 per hour
Duties: Serving customers, cash handling, table service at times, cleaning down the bar and restocking.
Hours of work: Varied depending on the function they will regularly include late nights and weekends.

Market Staff (Casual)
Nantwich Town Council manages the Town’s weekly market alongside a a large number of artisan and farmers markets on the Square. We are looking for casual members to join our team on Saturdays to assist with the setting up, taking down and daily duties of the markets.
Rate of pay: £40 per session (2 hours), additional hours paid at £11.44 per hour
Duties: Under the supervision of the Markets Supervisor you will be erecting and dismantling market gazebos, liaising with market stall holders, collecting of markets rents, implementing Health and Safety requirements and general cleaning duties.
Hours of work: Saturdays (hours vary, but start times can be from 6am and finish times can be up to 6pm)
