Subject:                                         Cheshire East Council winter service decision for the afternoon of Monday 2nd April 2018

Good Afternoon

Today’s forecast:

Cloudy and fairly breezy, with outbreaks of rain continuing on-and-off this afternoon and temperatures slowly recovering. Some sleet is possible at first at Cat and Fiddle in the High East domain until 1300hrs with road surface temperatures close to freezing, but temperatures will soon rise. Occasional clear spells expected tonight between showers and remaining similar on Tuesday morning. Road surface temperatures remaining above freezing throughout.

Planned gritting actions:

No planned action as temperatures are expected to rise through the day and overnight. The weather forecast will be monitored during the overnight period.

There will be sunny intervals and only isolated showers on Tuesday afternoon, with most places turning out dry. Overnight it should be dry but scattered showers will break out during Wednesday morning.

It will be unsettled during Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday night and into Thursday morning with the likelihood of showers, and there may also be a longer spell of rain for a time.

Thursday and Friday:

Any early showers will die away during Thursday afternoon or early evening to leave a cold and dry night. Friday morning also looks likely to be dry. After a dry start rain is likely at some point either on Friday afternoon, Friday night or Saturday morning and the associated cloud cover is likely to prevent the road surface temperature from falling to freezing.
