Councillor Penny Butterill is Mayor of Nantwich Town Council. She was invested at the Mayor Making ceremony held at Nantwich Civic Hall on Thursday 11th May 2017. She succeeds Councillor Andrew Martin who was Mayor in 2015/16/17.
Councillor Butterill’s husband Doug, is his Consort.
Penny lives locally in Nantwich and is married, with one son, and one granddaughter.
She was born in Hawarden, Wales and moved to the area in 1975, spending her working life as a Civil Servant. Penny was a Councillor for Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council, before joining Nantwich Town Council and has spend over 17 years as a Councillor, including supporting her husband Doug when he was Mayor of Crewe & Nantwich Borough in 1997/98. She is an active member of many organisations including Nantwich Civic Society, Nantwich Museum Trust and on the board of the Almshouses.
Doug to has countless years’ experience as a Councillor, as well as being a member of many organisations and is an Honorary Alderman, together they make a wonderful Civic Team for the town.
Rector of St Mary’s Church, Barry Wilson, is the Mayor’s Chaplain for 2017-18.
