Nantwich Mayor, Cllr Andrew Martin


Councillor Andrew Martin is Mayor of Nantwich Town Council.  He was invested at the Mayor Making ceremony held at Nantwich Civic Hall on Monday 15 June 2015.  He succeeds Councillor Christine Farrall who was Mayor in 2014/15.

Andrew lives locally in Stapeley, Nantwich and is married, with three children, two of whom are at Brine Leas School.  he is a practising Solicitor in Stoke on Trent.  He qualified in 1995 and is a director of his legal practice.

Andrew was elected to Nantwich Town Council in 2006 and in 2015 became the Mayor of Nantwich.  He was elected to Cheshire East Council, representing Nantwich in 2008.  He is a governor of both Brine Leas and Pear Tree Schools.  He is very active, and has ran the London Marathon on four occasions raising over £7000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust (a leukaemia charity).  He is also a past Round Table Area Chairman for the Cheshire and West Midlands and past President of his local Law Society.

The Mayor has chosen 5 groups as his fund-raising causes for his mayoral year; Nantwich in Bloom, Nantwich Players’ TheatreNantwich Museum, Nantwich Food Bank and Anthony Nolan Trust.

Rector of St Mary’s Church, Barry Wilson, is the Mayor’s Chaplain for 2015-16.
