NOTICE OF TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
PILLORY STREET SOUTH, NANTWICH at
NANTWICH LEVEL CROSSING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Cheshire East Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic in the following length of roads:-
Wellington Road/Pillory Street Nantwich, the length comprising the Level Crossing
The alternative route during the closure will be via Audlem Road, Peter De Stapleigh Way, Elwood Way, Newcastle Road, London Road, Hospital Street, Pratchitts Row, Station Road and vice versa.
The closure is necessary to enable Network Rail to carry out testing of the new Level crossing equipment.
It is anticipated that the works will be carried on the following dates & times;
- From 22:00 hours on Wednesday 18th until 07.00 hours on Thursday 19th September 2013.
- From 22:00 hours on Thursday 19th until 07:00 hours on Friday 20th September 2013.
- From 22:00 hours on Saturday 21st until 07:00 hours on Monday 23rd September 2013.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and vehicular access will be maintained for businesses, residents and emergency vehicles as far as possible.
This notice will become operative on Wednesday 18th September 2013 for a period of 5 days or for such less time as is necessary to enable the works to be completed.
