A competition to light up your Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner, the town is already preparing for the festive season.

Nantwich Christmas lights switch on, full of festive cheer, always kicks off the celebrations and is a wonderful part of the seasonal calendar.

The event, taking place on Thursday 23rd November will include an array of entertainment on the square from 5pm. 

The Cat Community Radio’s Chris Radford will return to host the event and there will be performances from Marc Gallagher, Nantwich Young Voices, and popular local band California Blue.

Rides and hot food stalls will lines the streets and there will be guest appearance from Santa’s Mixed Up Martian and Father Christmas. To conclude the event expect a spectacular display from Blitz Fireworks around 7pm.

Turning on the lights this year will be the Mayor of Nantwich Councillor Penny Butterill and sponsors of the magnificent central Christmas tree Applewood Independent.

However they are looking for a special someone to help them with this very important role!

Children from Nantwich or pupils of Nantwich Schools and under the age of 12 are invited to take part in the competition and join the team on stage. 

The Civic Hall’s Mixed Up Martian has, well, got a little bit mixed up.  Simply unscramble the word below to help him remember his best friends’ name!
